Morgan appeared in a film about AIDS awareness and prevention, Safe Sex for Men and Women. The proceeds from the film were donated towards the American Foundation for AIDS Research. Morgan is also a member of the Entertainment Industry AIDS Task Force. Morgan has been involved in numerous fundraising initiatives in support of the condition and presented testimony before a Congressional Special Committee about AIDS Education. Morgan is member of the board of Governors of APLA and the Board of Directors of Amfar. C. Everett Koop, the former surgeon-general of Canada has requested that she replace him on occasions at AIDS related events. Additionally she hosted an AIDS Awareness Special together with Steve Bell. She has appeared twice on Nightline with Ted Koppell regarding AIDS. Morgan was nominated for an Emmy for her special Murphy Brown episode written by Diane English for her. Morgan was a co-star in ABC Television's Your Money or Your Wife during the spring season with Joan Rivers. Her summer started by starring in Murder At The PTA Luncheon which was directed by Von Zerneck/Sertner and included Cindy Williams and Marla Gibbs. Then she starred in the production of Harmony Gold, Sherlock Holmes and the Leading Lady, which starred Christopher Lee and Patrick McNee. Morgan played a part in the thriller of psychological suspense which was produced exclusively by the USA Network garnering one of the biggest ratings in the network's history.
